In the modern office environment, employees often wear headphones at their desk. They do this to enjoy their music and to block out distractions in the office. Often desks are positioned to face away from doorways and busy hallways; also to avoid distractions. These measures reduce unintended interruptions, but at a cost. Employees are more isolated. They often don’t realize when they have a visitor to their desk. Additionally, the office visitor doesn’t know if the employee is actively listening to their music. This leads to awkward situations, or worse, work related conversations that don’t happen because they didn’t want to go to the trouble of interrupting someone.
A Solution - iPauseMusic
The iPauseMusic application for the iPhone/iPod touch solves this issue. iPauseMusic uses the device camera to detect motion at the entrance to your office/cube and then pauses your music alerting you that you have a visitor. Your visitor is shown a “PAUSED” message to let them know they can speak to you.
While you listen to your music, you can view your pictures, and your favorite web pages while they automatically scroll by.
You can even watch a YouTube video and have it pause when somebody comes in. And resume playing it with a wave of the hand.
Shows the album art for the currently playing song, if available.
Shows the pictures on your device as a slide show, cross-fading between them.
This lets you rediscover your photo collection while your getting your work done.
Shows your Facebook page and slowly scrolls through it.
Keep up with current events.
Watch the storms roll in throughout the day.
Watch YouTube videos and pause and play the videos without touching the device. It can hide the video when a visitor is detected.
